West Hawaii Island GYROTONIC® is proud to offer a variety of training courses and workshops for those wishing to learn how to teach the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® method.
All trainings take place at West Hawaii Island GYROTONIC®, 74-5626 Alapa Street, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96740 unless otherwise specified.

FOR BEGINNERS
Intro to the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® Method (1.5 hrs)

Learn about the process to becoming a licensed GYROTONIC® or GYROKINESIS® instructor.

GYROTONIC®
GYROTONIC® Level I Pre-Training (6 Days)
Limited to four(4) Participants to ensure individual attention.
In this course students interested in practicing the GYROTONIC® Metholodogy and/or becoming certified GYROTONIC® trainers gain a thorough understanding of the physical execution of movement concepts and exercises and a deeper understanding of GYROTONIC® principles. Successful completion of this course fulfills the prerequisite for participation in the Level 1 GYROTONIC® Foundation Course. Prior experience with the GYROTONIC® method is highly recommended before entering this course.
GYROTONIC® Level I Foundation Course (12 Days)
Pre-Requisite: Successful Completed GYROTONIC® Pre-Training Course. Bring your “Signed Passport” from an Authorized Pre-Trainer or Master Trainer
The GYROTONIC® Foundation Course is the second course you will need to complete if you wish to become a Certified GYROTONIC® Trainer. You have 3 months to enroll in a GYROTONIC® FOUNDATION COURSE once you complete the Pre-Training Course. Once you complete the 12-day, 60-hour Foundation Course, you are a Licensed GYROTONIC® Trainer, on your way to becoming Certified, and you enter the Apprentice Period.
GYROTONIC® Supervised Apprentice Review (6 Days)
Pre-Requisite: Students will be expected to bring with them their Apprentice Log Sheet with completed, documented classes.
This 6-day review meets the requirements for GYROTONIC® Apprenticeship review hours with a Master Trainer. The Supervised Review deepens the understanding of basic concepts, the exercises, and cuing in the GYROTONIC® Level 1 curriculum. This course prepares the Apprentice for a successful participation in the GYROTONIC® Final Certification.
GYROTONIC® Bi-Annual Level I Certified Trainer Update Course (3 days)
GYROTONIC® Level I – As a Musical Journey
In this course, an original musical score, created by GYROTONIC® Method creator, Juliu Horvath, in collaboration with musician, Rodolfo Troncoso, guides movers through a fluid, continuous stream of GYROTONIC® Level 1 exercise sequences. The rhythm, and tone of each song, in this course, resonates with the specific timing, and intention of the movement it accompanies. This harmonic synchrony of music, and movement greatly enhances the depth of the GYROTONIC® exercise experience. The GYROTONIC® Level I exercise curriculum, intermediate exercise sequences, and a special gem – the GYROTONIC® Nerve Strengthening Sequence, are all included in this course. Participants receive a course manual, and music download. DVDs are also available for purchase.
GYROTONIC® Level II Pre-Training Course Program I (3 Days)
GYROTONIC® Level II Pre-Training Course Program II (3 days)
Pre-requisite: Must be a certified GYROTONIC® Level I Trainer (successfully complete the final certificate course) for a minimum of 4 months before registering for this course.
This 3-day course introduces GYROTONIC® Trainers to the Level II, Program I exercises and prepares them for the GYROTONIC® Level II, Program I course. Students will complete the Level 2, Program I course within one year after completeing this pre-training course.
GYROTONIC® Level II Foundation Course Program I (4 days)
GYROTONIC® Level II Foundation Course Program II (4 days)*
Pre-requisite 1: Valid Pre-Training Qualification Agreement from the GYROTONIC® Level II Program I Pre-Training Course. The Trainer receives this document ELECTRONICALLY from Headquarters after the completion of the Pre-Training. The validity of the Pre-Training Qualification Agreement is ONE year.
Pre-requisite 2: Successful completion of the GYROTONIC® Level II, Program I Pre-Training Course.
In this course, GYROTONIC® Trainers learn the GYROTONIC® Level II, Program I exercise sequences. The course builds on the GYROTONIC® Level I curriculum, by introducing more challenging, endurance-building exercise sequences, including: an advanced hamstring series with a focus on cardiovascular endurance, an advanced handle unit series in multiple standing positions, and handle unit sequences in more challenging variations of the Level I sitting positions, a Level II traction series, an advanced upper body series in standing positions, and an advanced abdominal series.
GYROTONIC® Level II Program I or II Refresher Course (2 days)
Pre-requisite: Successful completion of the GYROTONIC® Level II, Program I after 2012. Those who took the GYROTONIC® Level II, Program I course PRIOR to 2012 should take the full GYROTONIC® Level II course(s) for review, as the course curriculum significantly changed in 2012.
In this course, GYROTONIC® Trainers learn Juliu’s most up-to-date additions and changes to the GYROTONIC® Level II, Program I exercise sequences..
GYROKINESIS®
GYROKINESIS® Level I Pre-Training (6 Days)
For those interested in becoming Certified GYROKINESIS® Instructors, this course is the first step and prerequisite to attend a GYROKINESIS® Foundation Course.
Purpose: To provide a foundational understanding of the GYROKINESIS® Level I exercises and prepare students physically for the GYROKINESIS® Level I Foundation Course. During this course, students focus on gaining experience, and developing a personal understanding of the exercises on the GYROKINESIS® Level I Pre-Training Course exercise list.
Prerequisites: An experienced GYROKINESIS® student, with a basic understanding of the GYROKINESIS® method, Level I class formats. Students should take a minimum of 10 or more GYROKINESIS® classes with a certified GYROKINESIS® Trainer prior to registering for this course.
Upon Succesful Completion: Once students have successfully completed the GYROKINESIS® Level I Pre-Training Course, they are qualified to proceed to the GYROKINESIS® Level I Foundation Course.
GYROKINESIS® Level I Foundation Course (9 Days)
Purpose: To provide a more in-depth understanding of the exercises in the GYROKINESIS® Level I 60-minute format class and 90-minute format class, and provide students with the specific skills and techniques to teach these exercise sequences to others. During this course, a GYROKINESIS® Master Trainer introduces the principles, and teaching techniques underlying the GYROKINESIS® Level I exercise syllabus.
Pre-requisite: Successful completion of GYROKINESIS® Level I Pre-Training Course.
Upon Successful Completion: Once students successfully complete the GYROKINESIS® Level I Foundation Course, they are considered a GYROKINESIS® Level I Apprentice. At this stage, the GYROKINESIS® Level I apprenticeship period begins and students are granted a trademark license that allows them to teach GYROKINESIS® classes in the role of Apprentice. The apprenticeship license is valid for 1 year.
GYROKINESIS® Supervised Apprentice Review (3 Days)
Pre-Requisite: Students will be expected to bring with them their Apprentice Log Sheet with 15 completed, documented classes.
This 3-day review meets the requirements for Apprenticeship review hours with a Master Trainer. The Supervised Hours will review both the 60-minute and 90-minute GYROKINESIS® class formats and explore updates to existing exercises, & breathing patterns. Includes supportive hands-on cues to help you build your teaching skills. This course prepares the Apprentice for a successful participation in the GYROKINESIS® Final Certification Course. Prior to attending this review the student must complete 15 GYROKINESIS® classes documented on the Apprentice Log Sheet.
GYROKINESIS® Bi-Annual Level I Certified Trainer Update Course (3 days)
In this course, students will review the most current Level I Foundation Course curriculum, refining their existing skill set and learning about Juliu’s newest approach regarding the Level I curriculum. In addition to practicing the Level I exercises, students will expand on teaching and tacktile cueing skills.
GYROKINESIS® Beginner Level II (6 Days)
This course introduces the Level II exercises and prepares students for the GYROKINESIS® Level II Foundation Course.
Prerequisite: Must be a Certified GYROKINESIS® Level I Trainer (successfully complete the GYROKINESIS® Final Certificate Course) for a minimum of 4 months to register for this course.
LOTUS BLOSSOM PROGRAM I – GYROKINESIS® Certified Trainer Update (3 Days)
The GYROKINESIS® LOTUS BLOSSOM PROGRAM I was originally developed by Juliu Horvath as part of his GYROKINESIS® ® Rejuvenation Course, and was introduced as an independent course in 2013.
The entire course is accompanied by a custom music score that has been developed by Julu Horvath, and musician, Rodolfo Troncoso specifically for this class format. The music in this course has been created in such a way that it resonates with the intention of each movement sequence.

BREATHING COURSE INTENSIVE – GYROKINESIS® Certified Trainer Update
This multi-faceted GYROKINESIS® course provides GYROKINESIS® Trainers with a number of exciting, new sequences and techniques to add to their GYROKINESIS® Class offerings.
Included in this course:
• GYROKINESIS® seated and standing sequences (2 hours total) set to a musical score created by GYROKINESIS® method creator, Juliu Horvath in collaboration with musician, Rodolfo Troncoso. The rhythm and tone of each song in these sequences is designed to resonate with the specific timing, and intention of the movement the song accompanies. This harmonic synchony of movement, and music adds a powerful, new dimension to the GYROKINESIS® exercise experience.
• A 30-minute nerve strengthening sequence
• “Metamorphosis”, a 2-hour breathing sequence
• A 20-minute dry scrubbing sequence
• Participants receive a course manual, and music download. DVDs are also available (exclusively for course participants) to purchase.

GYROTONER® (6 days)
In this course, GYROTONIC® trainers learn to apply GYROTONIC® movement principles to exercises on the GYROTONER®.
Prerequisite: GYROTONIC® or GYROKINESIS® Level I Trainer
GYROTONER® Refresher Course (2 days)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of GYROTONER® course.
GYROTONIC® Archway Course Level I (6 days)
In this course, GYROTONIC® trainers learn to apply GYROTONIC® movement principles to exercises on the Archway.
GYROTONIC® Archway Course Level II (6 days)
In this course, GYROTONIC® trainers expand on the exercise sequences covered in the Archway Level I course, learning new sequences, with increased strength, flexibility, and coordination challenges.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Archway, Level I course.
GYROTONIC® Archway Level I Refresher Course (3 days)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of GYROTONIC® Archway Level I course.
GYROTONIC® Archway Level II Refresher Course (3 days)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of GYROTONIC® Archway Level II course.
GYROTONIC® Jumping-Stretching Board (6 days)
In this course, GYROTONIC® Trainers learn to apply GYROTONIC® movement principles to exercises on the Jumping-Stretching Board.
Prerequisite: GYROTONIC® or GYROKINESIS® Level I Trainer
GYROTONIC® Jumping-Stretching Board Refresher Course (3 days)
In this course, GYROTONIC® Jumping-Stretching Board Trainers learn Juliu’s most current additions and changes to the Jumping-Stretching Board course curriculum.
Prerequisite: GYROTONIC® Trainers who successfully completed the Jumping-Streching Board Course after 2009. Those who took the Jumping-Streching Board Course prior to 2009 should re-take the full Jumping-Stretching Board Course for review, as there were extensive course changes in 2009.
GYROTONIC® Leg Extension Unit (6 days)
The Leg Extension Unit facilitates functional full, body movement sequences that strengthen upper/lower body coordination, and hand/foot coordination. Contra-lateral movement sequences in various planes increase functional strength and stability at all joints. A unique, patented, cam mechanism allows the leg to elongate, as it extends. So, the hip and knee joints are able to move in a fluid, natural range, without compression, increasing stability and strength around those joints.
Eleven seperate work out programs progression you sequentially from the most accessible to the most challenging of exercises.
GYROTONIC® Leg Extension Unit Refresher Course (3 days)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of GYROTONIC® Leg Extension Unit Course.

Prerequisites
All Prerequisites must be fulfilled prior to the Training according to the educational guidelines of Gyrotonic Headquarters.

Deposits
All Trainings require a $300 deposit to secure your spot in a course, or if you are scheduling a course by request. Deposits are non-refundable.
Balance
Once we receive your registration AND deposit, your spot in a Training is secured. The remaining balance for all Trainings is due on the first day of the course.
Attendance
It is mandatory to attend the entire course to be considered for certification. Make-up sessions are only for emergency circumstances and may be subject to additional fees.
Cancellation Policy
Once registered, please let WHIG know immediately if you are unable to attend. Deposits are non-refundable unless in case of severe illness, with a doctor’s letter.
